Tan Cang P3 rescues 5 fishermen in Vung Tau waters

On August 14th, at 18:30, the Tan Cang P3, operated by Tan Cang Pilot under Saigon Newport Corporation, successfully executed a rescue mission by saving five distressed fishermen in the waters of Vung Tau, Vietnam. This remarkable operation demonstrated Tan Cang Pilot's readiness and commitment to maritime safety.

At 17:40 on the same day, the Tan Cang P3 was on a mission near the Cau Da port in Vung Tau when it received an urgent distress call from the Maritime Administration of Vung Tau. The call informed them of fishermen in peril in the vicinity of Buoy Number 5, Vung Tau.
 
The Royal 06 vessel, which is of Vietnamese nationality had been anchored at Vung Tau but encountered a sudden squall, leading to its anchor breaking loose. As a result, the vessel drifted freely and collided with a place of fishermen caching fish and shrimp in Ganh Rai Bay, causing five fishermen to fall into the sea.

In response to the distress call, Senior Lieutenant Bui Van Chuyen and the entire crew of the Tan Cang P3 swiftly launched a search and rescue operation. They navigated through treacherous waves, strong winds, and squalls, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to saving the distressed fishermen. The safety and well-being of the fishermen became their top priority.
 
After nearly an hour of battling the elements, the Tan Cang P3 successfully located and rescued the five fishermen. They were found about 2 nautical miles from the original collision site. At 18:30 on the same day, the Tan Cang P3 safely handed over the rescued fishermen to the Border Guard of Ba Ria - Vung Tau port. The fishermen were in good health, thanks to the crew's prompt and effective response.

On the morning of August 15th, the leaders of the Vung Tau Maritime Administration paid tribute to the officers and crew of the Tan Cang P3. They expressed their appreciation by presenting flowers, commendation letters, and tokens of gratitude for their rapid and successful rescue efforts.

The incident in Vung Tau waters highlights the importance of maritime safety, especially in areas with a high density of anchored vessels. Despite the challenges, the quick and professional response of the Tan Cang P3 showcases to rescuing the safety of fishermen in distress.

Since 2016, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province has initiated plans to address the safety risk of a fishermen’s shelter on the sea, emphasizing the significance of enhancing maritime safety measures in the region.
