Developing the International Cruise Ship Market at Cai Mep Terminal:

In connection with this event, the Royal Caribbean International Group concurrently held a ceremony to announce the recovery of the international cruise ship tourism industry, which took place directly on board the Spectrum of the Seas upon its arrival at TCCT.

Tan Cang - Cai Mep terminal (TCCT) is the first deep-water terminal in Vietnam in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai region, with the capability to receive vessels with a capacity of up to 160,000 DWT. TCCT optimizes its capacity and strengths to enhance collaboration with major partners, such as Ba Son Corporation and KCTC Vietnam. Both entities invest in developing suitable investment plans for service expansion, warehouse and yard operation, and logistics solutions in the vital southern region.

Promoting International Cruise Ship Tourism:

The local Department of Tourism actively promotes and markets international cruise ship tourism, particularly targeting the Vietnamese market. In 2022, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province coordinated with the Singapore Tourism Board and several Singaporean travel agencies to survey cruise ship tourism at ports within the province, with plans for 26 cruise ship visits to Phu My terminal in 2023.

These favorable factors present multiple opportunities for development, not only for the local tourism industry but also for TCCT to expand its potential cruise ship business, thereby achieving and surpassing its business targets for 2023.
