Rescue success of the MOL CHARISMA vessel

On July 21, 2021, and July 23, 2021, the dedicated Rescue Team of Tan Cang Pilot orchestrated a highly successful operation to assist the MOL CHARISMA vessel in safely navigating its way into and out of Tan Cang - Cai Mep Thi Vai Terminal (TCTT).

The MOL CHARISMA, a vessel dimensions of LOA 316m, Draft 13.2m, and DWT 90,390T, faced technical challenges that prevented its entry into TCTT. Consequently, it had to anchor at the predetermined location, K3, in the Vung Tau area as per the directive of the Vung Tau Maritime Administration

This situation unfolded on July 19, 2021, when the shipowner, agent, and Vung Tau Maritime Administration reported engine malfunction and a loss of maneuverability concerning the MOL CHARISMA. In swift response, Tan Cang Pilot assembled a proficient Rescue Team. This team swiftly devised a comprehensive plan and provided timely recommendations to the Vung Tau Maritime Administration, ensuring the vessel's safe entry into TCTT while upholding maritime safety standards.

In the early hours of July 21, 2021, and again on July 23, 2021, the Tan Cang Pilot’s team executed a resolute operation. They deployed seasoned pepper experts to oversee the secure anchoring and departure of the MOL CHARISMA vessel from TCTT, ensuring absolute safety throughout the process.

This remarkable success story in rescuing the MOL CHARISMA vessel underscores Tan Cang Pilot's exceptional expertise and dedication to its national defense role. This event has opened up new horizons in terms of timely rescue capabilities and enhanced safety for Saigon Newport Corporation's super-sized vessels.
